Client’s behaviors and personal hygiene are to be such that they prevent exposure of others to infectious disease. Health information is provided through periodic lectures given by the Medical Director and pamphlets available in the literature rack. Good health and hygiene practices promote self-respect and are important in socialization and prevention of disease.

Clients are to keep themselves, their clothes, and immediate living area neat and clean, in addition to assigned therapeutic detail. The staff reserves the right to inspect all areas of the facility.

All clients are to be up and have beds made by 8:00 a.m., unless other arrangements are made with the staff.

Everyone is to sign out when leaving the unit. This is a personal responsibility providing for emergency purposes as well as a courtesy to others in the facility. No client may sign for another.

Employment is an integrated part of the Program, and all clients are expected to report for job duties as assigned by counselor or staff.

Clients are not to interchange wardrobe or dresser drawers when changing rooms or when a roommate is discharged. Keep the assigned bed.

Clients shall provide their own bath and laundry soap. Coin-operated washing machines and dryers are located in the laundry room (lower level).

Clients are to shower and clean up before curfew. Clients must be clothed or wearing appropriate bathrobes going to and from their shower. Please leave the shower area clean when you have finished.

All clients are expected to wear appropriate clothing. Shoes and shirts must be worn in common areas and dining room. Clothing that is associated with using behaviors or that is sexually revealing is not permitted.

Major decisions during residence are to be discussed with a counselor prior to taking action. These would include purchases such as an automobile, starting or quitting employments, obtaining a loan, etc.

Provisions will be made for bag lunches or the holding of meals if this is necessary due to work schedules or other approved reasons. Main meals are to be eaten in the dining room. Food and dishes are not to be taken from the dining area.

There are some places and activities associated with past drinking or using that are inappropriate for newly recovering people. These include bars or lounges that serve alcohol, some concerts, parties, etc. If there is a question, discuss with a counselor.

    2. Clients must be insured and licensed legally, and abide by Wisconsin State laws;
